You can begin a growing relationship with God by realizing: 1. That God loves you and wants you to have a relationship with you. (John 3:16) 2. That we have all sinned against God and our sin separates us from the righteous and Holy God revealed in the Bible. (Romans 3:23) 3. That we cannot save ourselves. There is nothing we can do by ourselves to restore the broken relationship with God. (Romans 4:4-5) 4. That there is good news. God set His only son, Jesus, to die for you to remove the sin barrier between you and God. (1Peter 2:24, Romans 5:8) 5. That by putting your faith in Jesus and receiving Him as your Lord and Savior you can be saved. Faith is trusting Jesus to do for us what we could never do for ourselves. 6. That Jesus can forgive your sins and give you eternal life. You need to admit to God that you are a sinner. Ask God to forgive you of your sins and ask Him to come into your life and live through you. Jesus living through you - that is what it is to be a Christian. (John 1:12) |
