The WMU of Stanardsville Baptist Church, being rooted and established in love, seeks to show the measure and fullness of God's love: through nurturing and educating one another; by strengthening and motivating new Christians; and reaching into our community and world to relay God's peace and glorifying Christ in all things.

Women on Mission United (WMU) is the local group of an international organization of women affiliated with the SBC. It serves to focus our efforts on doing missions, supporting missions through concerted prayer, and both regular as well as special seasonal offerings.

The WMU

In 1888, a handful of women dedicated to the cause of missions founded Woman's Missionary Union. Since that time, WMU has become the largest Protestant missions organization for women in the world, with a membership of approximately 1 million.
